Wow, Unless it's a rebuild, this may be an outstanding deal. Beautiful car, but a bit suspicious b/c of the price and it's at a small stealership. Seats have covers, but nice ones. What do you think?

Seems high to me at 115k miles. (then clicks link and sees HT)...ok, maybe not high. :D

Non OEM exhaust, front grill, missing wind deflector, SE floor mats and both seats look like they’ve either been reupholstered or covers possibly but I’m not sure. Anyways might be a decent deal but I’d need more pictures of the engine bay and chassis.

Dang, you gents are hard to please. The grill and mats don't bother me. The missing wind deflector, however, does. I could live w/ the dual exhaust , but only if there was no damage to the rear bumper cover. I think of it as a 115k car, w/ hard top for $7k, which is exactly what it is. If one is willing to pay $2,500 for any factory hardtop, and $500 for a matching paint job, then the price of the car is only $4k. For the overall condition of the car, that seems an outstanding deal in today's market. But that's just me.

This is not the norm yet. People are advertising at $2k-$2.5 but they are not selling in any significant numbers to suggest this is normal.

Edit2: I do think buy at/near $1500, then respray for at/near $2k all-in, is near "normal".

Good price if there's no rust issues. I'd check the under side, trunk, pinch weld/drains, engine bay etc. And get a prebuy inspection. Under priced coming a dealer in this market imo w a hardtop. I'd value a hardtop at 1,500-1,800. I'd check the condition of the soft top as well.

My main concern would be what the actual price is ie. Extra nonsense fees, price changes etc. Otherwise it's a fair price if the cars we'll running. I'd get a pre purchase inspection from a mechanic

Great points. just looked at FB market place for the first time in months. The price asked for worn out, POS Miatas is nearly insane.

I'm not sure if your math is backwards? Are you saying it's only a $4.000 car? And to that you add $3,000 to get a matching HT top get a $7,000 car? While you can subtract the value of a $2,000 HT to get a net purchase price of $5,000, but you can't add back $3,000 to a $4,000 car get to a $7,000 car. But yes, sell off the HT and you have a $5,000 - $5,500 SE

For a dealer, or even private party, I think this is a well priced car for someone as an only car, or dd Miata without worries about using it regularly.

I don't think of it as backwards math. I prefer to see it as fuzzy math. Not owning a hard top myself, and only using this site as a guide, I put $3k on the car's hard top w/ matching paint. Making the car an outstanding deal overall. Even if we take your valuation of $2k for a matching HT, $5k for an MX5 in that condition (barring a salvage/rebuilt title, w/ no rust), it would seem a very good deal in today's market.

Just today, I went thru most of the states west of the Mississippi on Craigslist lookin' for NB's, I then did a regional search for NB's in the Ok, Tx, MO, Ark, Ks area on FB market place. The asking price for worn out POS Miata's was insane. Here's an example of an '00, SE in KC, MO. for the same price as the one in Tulsa.

On eyeballing alone, I'd take the Tulsa car, and consider it a steal.

Having said that, and as a guy w/ 2 sub 60k mile NB 2's, I find this car highly intriguing and was curious as to how other enthusiast would view it. If I was lucky enough to own a 3 car garage, I think the Tulsa car might be a great DD. As it is, I bet it's gone by Thursday evening.;) Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.:)

Okay, we're the same page. Somehow your wording of "If one is willing to pay $2,500 for any factory hardtop, and $500 for a matching paint job, then the price of the car is only $4k" was throwing me.

Every Miata w/HT ad in Phoenix is inundated with offers for the HT

I checked on the Tulsa car right after lunch (12:31 ), it was gone. Cleanest car for the price, condition and miles in the region.

Hopefully soon Bob it’s been three weeks since they’ve accepted my submission.Just waiting on a reserve price at this point.I’m hoping to get some decent GoPro action cut videos before the end of the week to add to the montage. After adding the ND2 BBS/BB/RS I need the garage space.[emoji2369]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210908/4c437eddab4c9e392d77dd3b980aa390.jpg
